Detecting your IP address…
Public IP — The address your router presents to the internet. Assigned by your ISP. Every website you visit can see this address.
Private IP — Your device's address on your local network (e.g. 192.168.1.5). Only visible inside your home or office network, not on the internet.
IPv4 — The classic format: four numbers 0–255 separated by dots (e.g. 93.184.216.34). About 4.3 billion unique addresses exist — most are already assigned.
IPv6 — The next-generation format: eight groups of up to four hex digits separated by colons (e.g. 2001:0db8::1). Provides virtually unlimited unique addresses for the future internet.
Dynamic vs. Static — Most home connections use a dynamic IP that changes periodically. A static IP stays fixed — useful for servers, remote access, and VoIP.
Privacy tip: If you want to hide your real IP from websites, a VPN routes your traffic through a different server and shows that server's IP instead.
About IP Address Lookup
IP Address Lookup shows your current public IP address and approximate geolocation details — all fetched directly in your browser. Your IP is retrieved from the open ipify.org API; optional location data comes from ipapi.co. FreeToolBox stores nothing, logs nothing, and tracks nothing.
